Visual Implementation (VI4)

Chart 1&2: These barcharts shows the magnitude channel and its position on a common scale. There is a magnitude channel mark of area which is represented by the barchart itself as the larger data takes up more area than smaller data. Discriminability of the visualization is maintained since the different values are visually recognizable and the visual channel quantifies the number of bins within the visual channel.

Chart 3&4: These simple pie charts in D3 and Tableau represent the identity channel with color hue and spatial region. The different color hues show the different categorical data very well and the different sizes of pie slices represent the spatial region for the different values of data. The containment mark is also visible. The discriminability of the visualization is clear to the viewer because of the hue and spatial representation that quantifies for the limited number of bins in the visualization.
