My attempt for the Makeover Monday which showed people's responses to what they feel is most important for success.
The data was sourced from a Russian market research company, and I could not find a methodology for the survey. Therefore, I can not comment on the validity of the data or its findings.
The original visualisation used a radar chart to show the percentage of responses grouped by "poor", "middle class" and "rich people". I didn't like the chart as I found it hard to keep track of the "stratas" as I worked around the reasons. Without understanding how they grouped and named the "stratas", I am not comfortable using the same terminology in my remake.
I chose a dot plot, with the range of percentages underlaid, and I sorted the rows (reasons) from largest to smallest range. I feel this provides an easier way to compare "stratas" and see which reasons had the most variability.
People from different backgrounds have different conceptions about is the secret of success.
Percentage of people, per income bracket (low, medium, high), who said X is a main reason for success.
